What's in Dublin's water.

What that means at home
Dublin water runs 5.7 to 7.3 grains per gallon, which the industry calls moderately hard. You see it as white scale on faucets and shower glass, a film on dishes, and shorter life for water heaters and dishwashers. Soap works harder too. A softener takes the hardness to near zero.
Columbus disinfects with chlorine, not chloramine. That is what you taste and smell at the tap. A carbon tank removes it from every faucet; the RO system handles the drinking water at the kitchen sink.
This page is about taste and fixtures. City of Columbus Division of Water water meets federal drinking water standards. We make no health claims.
